Dear readers,
When we first met I honestly had no idea that you would be so important to me. Sometimes blogging can be such a solitary experience. You put your feelings out there and hope for some kind of response. You want to reach people and affect people. Some might argue that a sports blog isn’t such a deep and profound way to do that, but I believe that forming a community of any kind is one of the best ways to impact the lives of others.
When I started the blog back in the spring of 2010, I thought it would just be a fun way to rant about stuff I didn’t love about sports, gush about the things I did, and prove that women could like and talk intelligently about things that were normally reserved for the boys’ club. I wanted my other female friends to have something to read that appealed to their love of sports but was written for them as the intended audience without a “pink it and shrink it” marketing plan.
Now we’ve expanded to hundreds of posts (despite a couple long breaks), many female AND male readers, guest contributors, interviewees, a facebook community and a twitter feed. And I wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this little project of mine. I hope that you continue to stay active in the Chicks Like Sports Too community in 2013. We have just developed a few new ways to get involved and you can check them out under the Community tab on the menu bar. There are brand new challenges, a book club, and a new way to learn about all the stuff you’ve been curious about related to sports and fitness straight from the experts. Also, don’t forget about our guest blogger and interview series. If you or someone you know would be interested in contributing, or if you know of someone who would make a great subject for a future one on one interview for the blog, feel free to shoot me an email at chickslikesportstoo@gmail.com.
